Tell Your Friends:
Innovation happens in the underground.
It’s beneath the surface that boundaries bend and break. It’s on the streets that change brews. It all goes down in the trap and A$AP Ferg rules that realm. His 2013 debut album Trap Lord (A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds Music/RCA), laid down his hypnotic hood decree over the course of thirteen visceral, vibrant, and visionary tracks. The results were a chart topping success, entering at #2 on the Billboard Rap Album chart, #9 on the Billboard 200, #4 on the R&B Albums and #5 on the Top Digital Albums chart.
As a member of Harlem’s very own A$AP Mob collective, Ferg spent 2012 fortifying the groundwork for his ascent to Trap Lord. He appeared on “Ghetto Symphony” from A$AP Rocky’s chart-topping major label debut album LONG.LIVE.A$AP., as well as viral hits “Kissin’ Pink” and “Get High.” Ferg showcased his energetic stage presence when he joined A$AP Rocky for sold-out tours with Rihanna and Drake, garnering new fans along the way.
In 2013, he dropped the solo hit “Work,” which properly introduced the world to his succinct skills and penchant for intense, otherworldly delivery. It also attracted Rocky, French Montana, ScHoolBoy Q, and Trinidad James to a high-profile remix and video that has garnered over 44 million YouTube/VEVO views to date and earned Ferg a “Who New? Rookie of the Year” trophy and Video Director of the Year nomination at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards.
The second single off of Trap Lord, “Shabba,” featuring Rocky, was the track that brought Ferg into the mainstream with Rolling Stone declaring the energetic rapper as an “Artist to Watch” within the A$AP Mob.
With hit singles and accolades pouring in, Ferg continued to break boundaries and gain new believers on his Fall 2013 headlining “Turnt x Burnt Tour,” alongside the A$AP Mob. Since then, Ferg has also delivered electrifying performances at the 2013 BET Awards, HOT 97 Summer Jam and was the opening act on “Bandz A Make Her Dance” rapper Juicy J’s “Stay Trippy Tour.” In 2014, he performed at Skrillex’s New Year’s Eve at Madison Square Garden alongside Diplo, Jack Ü,and Rudimental amongst others.
In addition to his music, Ferg also has a strong passion for fashion which he channels in his recently announced Adidas footwear and apparel skateboarding collection and denim collaboration with L.A. brand, AGOLDE.
Throughout all of Ferg’s accomplishments, the one thing that consistently stands out is his vision. Never losing sight of where he came from, Ferg is a hustler. In fact, he never stops working and that’s why he’s already established himself as a hip-hop and fashion contender.
“Everybody always says, ‘Ferg, you’ve always got a new hustle. You never stop trapping’,” he smiles.
With the success of his critically-acclaimed major label debut, performances with some of the industry’s most influential artists under his belt, plus a clear vision and platform to share his story, A$AP Ferg will release his sophomore album Always $trive and Prosper this winter on A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.
